Chester Gwazda
Chester is a New York-based music editor and technical score engineer working across feature films and episodic television. His credits include Venom: The Last Dance (Sony Pictures), Task (HBO), and The Dark Wizard (HBO), with work spanning drama, documentary, and comedy for HBO, Netflix, Hulu, and Apple TV.
He manages the score through each stage of post-production, from the handoff between picture editorial and the music department through delivery to sound editorial, and oversees cue sheet preparation and management using Google Sheets, Excel, and CueDB. As a technical score engineer, he prepares and organizes the composer's files in Pro Tools for clean handoff to the scoring stage, score mix, and final mix. He also works closely with editors and directors to shape temp scores. Pro Tools is central to his work, and he uses his deep knowledge of the software to work quickly and solve problems as they arise.
Chester has collaborated with Dan Deacon across many years and many projects, serving variously as music editor, album producer, sideman, and tour manager — a working relationship that informs his composer-side perspective on post-production work.
He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from SUNY Purchase College.
