Ioana Șelaru
Ioana [EE W AH N AH] Șelaru is a Romanian composer and violinist based in London. Her distinctive sonic palette blends traditional musical forms with experimental processing techniques.
Recent highlights include the psychological horror Downthe Length (dir. Milo Edwards), starring Joseph Quinn, and the feature film Effi o Blaenau (dir. Marc Evans), co-scored with Sion Treforand featuring Leisa Gwenllian and Tom Rhys Harries. Alongside her own compositional work, she has assisted and contributed additional music on several major projects, including Say Nothing, Waiting for the Out, Lollipop, and A Gorilla Story: Told by David Attenborough.
As a solo artist, Ioana is featured on Paradessence, the latest album byambient-electronic duo Visible Cloaks, released on RVNG Intl. Ioana holds an MAin Film Music Composition from Leeds Beckett University and has been mentoredby Max Richter.
