Biography

French composer Raphaelle Thibaut has emerged as a powerful voice in film and television scoring, earning a nomination for Breakthrough Composer of the Year from the International Film Music Critics Association. Inspired by Ennio Morricone, Jerry Goldsmith and François de Roubaix, she is known for emotionally resonant scores, rich orchestration, and a distinctive blend of classical and modern textures.

Raphaelle’s credits span acclaimed feature documentaries, premium series and natural history projects. Her work includes the Emmy-winning Disney+/National Geographic docuseries Secrets of the Whales, produced by James Cameron and narrated by Sigourney Weaver; Netflix's Heart of Invictus, produced by Prince Harry and directed by Academy Award-winner Orlando von Einsiedel; Timeless Heroes: Indiana Jones & Harrison Ford for Lucasfilm and Disney+; Introducing, Selma Blair; Mama’s Boy; and Fantastic Beasts: A Natural History, alongside projects for BBC and PBS. Her recent work also includes the Disneynature feature Sea Lions of the Galapagos, produced by Silverback Films and recorded at Abbey Road Studios in 2024.

Most recently, Raphaelle composed the score for Netflix’s docuseries Being Gordon Ramsay. She also wrote the score for The Slightest Touch, directed by Rachel Fleit and co-produced by/featuring Colin Farrell, which premiered at the 2026 Dublin International Film Festival and won the festival’s Best Documentary Award. Born in France, Raphaelle began piano at a very young age and later left a career at Google to pursue film composition full-time after a transformative visit to Abbey Road Studios in 2015.
