Sarah Giles
Sarah Giles is a creative music supervisor with an unusual combination of very niche yet varied experience in sourcing, commissioning, and licensing music for film and TV projects. She has a BA in classical performance from Southampton University, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law, London.
Her work as music supervisor on period black comedy film The Favourite (co-produced and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos) forced an immersion in the worlds of baroque, religious, mid- century and contemporary classical music, and this experience continued into projects such as AMC & Hera Pictures’ Mary & George, Oliver Hermanus’ 17th Century period drama series lead by Julianne Moore.
For several years, Sarah also headed up the European sync team for prestigious record label Decca at Universal Records, where she furthered her expertise in film scores and classical, electronic, jazz and other contemporary music styles intimately through working with iconic artists such as Clint Mansell, Max Richter, Isobel Waller-Bridge, Clark, and many others.
In 2021 Sarah co-founded UK based independent company King Lear Music & Sound, an award-winning sound design and music post-production facility in Shoreditch, London, where she continues to music supervise film and TV projects from start to finish alongside her team, which includes co-music supervisor Kaya Pino.
Sarah’s credits include 2024 TV series The Listeners (Element Pictures) directed by Janicza Bravo, 2024 TV series Mary & George (Hera Pictures, Sky), 2024 feature Animal (T-Street) directed by Barnaby Roper and Yorgos Lanthimos’ acclaimed 2023 release Poor Things (FOX Searchlight). 2025’s projects included Apple TV+’s series Down Cemetery Road, and Pillion, starring Alexander Skarsgard, for BBC Film.
